ENG 3 H & R: Unit 1 – Embedded Assessment #2

Assignment: 

Your assignment is to synthesize at least three to five sources and your own observations to defend, challenge, or qualify the statement that American still provides access to the American Dream. This question requires you to integrate a variety of sources (3-5) into a coherent, well-written argumentative essay. Your argument should be central; the sources and your observations should support this argument.

Requirements: 

•Must be typed
•Must include 3-5 pieces of text-based evidence from Spring Board
•Must include a claim (challenge, qualify, defend)
•Must include one concession paragraph (giving a positive note to the other side of the argument)
•Must include substantial introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion
•Must be argumentative in nature
•Must include in-text citations
•Must include a title, your name, the date, and your class period at the top of the paper

Hint:

•Follow the Argumentative Essay Flow Chart you were given (it’s also on Edsby), and the rubric on page 88 in Spring Board. You may use any resources, or tools, I have provided you with. With these resources, you cannot fail!

•Also, please use Spell Check and Grammar Check. Read through your paper before printing or sending. Make sure it makes sense and there are no words misspelled. Also, check to make sure it flows smoothly from paragraph to paragraph.

Due Date: 

•During your scheduled period on Tuesday, October 21st, 2014 (You have a total of 4 days)
•No extensions unless approved directly through me

•Typed paper in-hand on Tuesday
•Edsby
•Email
